Best Summer Ever!

I know I have been on a high lately. Everything is falling into place and so far I am so happy that I am blessed. This summer was no exception. When I said in my tweets that this year was all about family, I was not lying. This summer really revved up and I feel as though it was the highlight of my year so far. More, after the jump!

April is not really the month it all started. I got my Xbox 360 on April and simply played my way through the whole month. When my brother visited me in Davao, we had fun playing with the Xbox. Well, that is pretty much the highlight of that month.

Enter the month of May where my some of my high school classmates and I went to Camp Sabros in Kapatagan, Digos. That was the start of the journey and boy it really did kick start it as I went to an adventure that I never experienced before. I walked 700 meters uphill. There was a moment where it felt like I was in the Amazing Race and I'm on the verge of giving up. However, with my classmates supporting me all the way, I made it through. You might say that 700 meters is nothing but it is really something for me because I am not really an outdoors person. Our overnight stay there was a blast.

Second was my trip to Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City, and Marawi City. I sure did meet a lot of relatives that time because I was just in time for the largest reunion ever. It was most fun as it felt like an organization event. There were lots of games and presentations and everything was colorful and festive. My uncle sure knows how to throw a massive reunion. Whew. My biological father was also there in Marawi and I met all my siblings from his side. I also had the most wonderful time with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I really feel I belong there because of their warm hospitality. As I left Marawi City for my flight, I was on the verge of tears but held it because I know I will be able to see them again soon.

After a wonderful journey to my father's side of the family, it's time to go to my mother's side of the family. Too bad that some of my aunts and uncles were not able to join us due to some conflicts but we managed to have fun. You see, our family will be the one hosting the reunion of Tuazons. The reunion was loads of enjoyment. I even sang! Thank goodness the heavens were not enraged by keeping the weather clear. I also learned a lot in the reunion by knowing some relatives I have never known. For example, did you know that President Arroyo was actually one of our relatives? I was shocked by this as well. Anyway, the reunion was tiring but really enjoyable.

My Cousins, Mother side

So after going through with my real life family. I went to manila to meet a different kind of family. I met with some of my clan mates from my Perfect world days. Back then, I was in a depressing state in life and they were always there. We went to dungeons, wars, and even political disputes (in-game ofcourse) together. For three solid years, Clan Exiled of Perfect World's Tiger Server is still there, staying strong. This year might be the year where... might as well not jinx it. This clan held me up. Through thick and thin, I stayed sane. Heh.

Honor. Strength. Unity.

But Manila is not the end of it. The icing on the cake is here on Davao where I spent time with my buddy, Bill. We went to the newly opened mall, Abreeza and simply just walked around and talked about what happened during the summer. We also talked about things that we are planning to do during school days but I'm sure that it will all be changed because sometimes it's better to do things unplanned.

It's fun that way... sometimes. Heh.

So that's it. My summer. Best. Ever.

Why I would make a Terrible "Bad Guy?"

I love villains.

Having said that. I sometimes side with villains if their reasoning is logically sound and it would seem the only way to execute it is by doing something of a lesser evil. I sometimes side with villains when the protagonist is somewhat sappy and sickeningly emotional. But there are other shallow reasons why I would pick a villain, like for example, the aesthetic appeal whereas the costume is bad ass and awesome while the protagonist looks tame and unappealing. Even though I am a villain guy, I sometimes wish that villains will be the one changing things and they won’t die and actually do something good. However, there are limitations on villains I like. I like ‘em sophisticated, smart, and with a hint of badass-ery. Still, they can’t all be perfect.

There are instances that I wanted to be the bad guy in some games. I want to be badass BUT…

I easily pity people.

For some reason I have this damn conscience that’s keeping me from making decisions that will hurt someone. And yes, that’s the only thing that is keeping me from being an asshole.

Even in games.

You know the first time I played some RPG games, I was actually hesitant on killing something or someone. For example, in some RPG I played, I need to cut my way through enemy soldiers in order to push through. I would sometimes, hesitate in doing the killing because certain back stories came into mind.

What about their family? What if they have a loved one waiting for them to arrive? Surely, they can’t all be evil. How would I know in the mass of these supposedly bad men, some good guy might be in the wrong place at the wrong time? Unfortunately, in order to push through the story that I wanted, I need to defeat them.

Loved making back stories on henchmen, but such things made me progress the game a little bit slower.

But yeah, some toughness sneaks through but only if it was absolutely logically necessary.

Even at real life.

The only thing wrong in letting out some toughness is that it sticks to people and making them think that such attitude is the only way I act. Sometimes, I find it beneficial but oftentimes it gets me thinking.

Do they really think that I’m this asshole that is that’s why they show respect or they show respect because I am actually really respectable?

Only time will tell, but in the meantime, If I were to decide whether someone lives or dies in a fantasy world I created, I am 90% sure that I will show mercy. Then again, that 10% is still there.

Can’t follow my train of thought? Uh, sorry.

Organizing my Life this Summer

School has been pretty hectic but this summer vacation allowed me to unwind and think about the decisions I will be making this coming semester. Several things crossed my mind but first things first, I need to get my life organized. Everything in my life has been pretty much blown out of proportion, especially my hard disk. Well, my hard disk consists a huge portion of my life anyway and what better way to start organizing my life than my hard disk.

Here is what I've done so far.

I have reformatted my netbook and installed a bogged down version of windows 7.

That's pretty much it.

I still have a long way to go in organizing my life and I hope I will be done before Holy Week. I still have a lot of chores to do but when I'm over, it's a fresh new life again and ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow.

Fed up

I am a rule person. I can't bring it upon myself to break rules because I love rules. Rules keep people in line but unfortunately, in this society we live in, rules are nothing but formal words. Rules are only brought upon when there is a point to be proven or something profound has happen that caused the rules to be enforced.

But enough about rules.

The purpose of this post is to let people know that I am fed up. All those empty promises and people taking me for granted is now over. Something made me realize that no matter what you do, nothing is ever good enough.

I'm done.

Don't get me wrong, I still do favors for people but not in the sense that I will slave over it. If I don't want your favor, I will reject it.

If you threaten me. You'll simply waste your breath. I'm a passive person. If I don't like you, you simply don't exist in my world.

In Pain

This isn't something emotional. I am in pain right now. For some reason, a swelling has appeared near my ear. It's not a pimple, it's somewhat bigger. This is the most painful inflammation yet and the biggest. Tried concealing it but to no avail, it is still gathering attention.

But this pain... is making me a bit lazy but oftentimes, the pain in my ear makes me work harder. I think it will subside soon but until then, I will be very irritable.

I'm saying sorry in advance to the people I might snap back. In any case, I am trying very hard not to.

Just Thankful

Life is definitely awesome. While some of you might punch me in the face for saying this too much but everything is still falling into place. But I've got my down moments too where I feel as though I am alone at times. However, such feelings doesn't really last very long because I am constantly reminded that I have good friends, a wonderful family, and a life definitely worth living for. Every time I didn't get what I want, I always look at the things that has been happening and say to myself that it's just not the time for that yet and be thankful that I am blessed with so many.

But there are lots of surprises in it too. Some wishes suddenly become a reality a day or two after.

Life is just awesome but I sincerely hope that you'll have an awesome life too. Relinquish the negative thoughts in your body and I assure you, you'll feel everything happens for a reason and everything happens in your bidding.

You control your life, if you believe you can. :D

My Secret To A Happy Life

I have been telling people this for a long time, my secret to a happy life is to be positive. I know it is easier said than done but trust me, when you are doing it you will be on a roll. The positive side of life is really refreshing and a wonderful feeling. It's addicting but not destructive. I'll tell you my experience on it.

You see, I had a very bad teenage years and bad is just an understatement but I won't be concentrating on that and bawling on my sad life experiences. Let me give you the gist of it. I was emo. Mad at the world. Mad at my life. Mad at everything else. I was lonely, very lonely and I feel that nothing can comfort me. Even God.

However, everything turned around when I applied some simple but hard to do steps. First things, first. You have to learn to be lonely. Yes, you have to realize that being lonely is something that is a reality. If you can stand being alone then that is already 50% of your progress.

By learning to be lonely does not mean you wallow in self-pity. Learning to be lonely means you are OK when you are alone. But I am not saying that you should be alone all the time. Friends are a welcome addition to your life, as well as your family. But, we have to accept the fact that they may not be there always. Think about this, being alone is good, and having friends is better. However, do not lean too much on friends, you have to fend for your own from time to time. Leaning too much is very destructive because you are not the center of your friend's life. They have their own life to worry about too. :)

The next part that you have to practice is perhaps the hardest but relatively simple step. Staying positive. Yes, staying positive attracts positive outcomes. Although sometimes it really works differently for others. People are always asking me how I come off from being all mopy and emo. It's my outlook in life. Everything happens if you will it. You control your own life.

Sounds hard to believe does it? Have you ever looked back to all the bad things that happened to your life? What was your way of thinking? It happened the way you think it would right? If you will notice, you are very negative.

Thinking positive is a struggle because our environment is full of negativity. Even I have been struggling with this but there is a great improvement in me. But trust me, if you practice it you will have nice results. I have been applying this in the entirety of my life but I have never really realized its full potential until recently. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes you will simply be amazed how coincidental and funny how things happen into your favor if you will it.

The Day the Universe Taught Me A Lesson

Today was another peculiar day but it ended up great. Over the weeks, it has been gloomy as my grandmother was feeling a bit ill. She was quite afraid that she would be diagnosed with colon cancer because there were several irregularities in her waste disposal (ie. blood). Still, I assured her that we could not conclude anything until the results of her examination is out.

Today was her examination. She was admitted at the hospital yesterday for her examination preparation. After the results came out, we were all relieved that she did not have cancer at all. She is currently resting now and she will be back to normal after a while.

Anyway, that was the first part of my day. The second part would be my dilemma if I would ask my mom to buy me that DSLR camera I was aiming for. Last time I was given the chance but denied it because I got cold feet.

Now, my choice was made for me.

She does not want to buy my new camera anymore but instead offered me an alternative.

A PC.

I don't know whether or not I would jump with joy. But deep inside I was happy. A new pc was one of the thoughts that crossed my mind last time that's why I got cold feet. I was thinking of my brothers because they don't have any PC at all and my old PC would be perfect for them. But I do not discount the fact that I became selfish for a moment there and still chose the DSLR camera in the end.

Nevertheless, it was a sign. I was grateful for that reality check. It was another lesson for me that life shouldn't be all about me. Even though everything has been going well for me, there are times that I have to share my blessings with some people too, especially my brothers.

Building Your Reputation Online: Investing on Your Future

Bulding up a reputation in real life is quite the same with your reputation online. It will define who you are what you do. Although there are other channels of online presence that will make you anonymous, the handle or nickname will still have that reputation. But I am not here to talk about reputations on anonymous nicknames. I am here to talk about Social Networking Reputation.

You might think that not caring for what other people thinks is cool but that's not the point. You should care. Why? Because this is your future. Did you know that some companies look at the facebook or social networking profiles for their decision making? Most of the companies are now adopting this kind of investigation to truly see what goes in the applicant's mind or what he is like IRL.

However, companies are not the only ones looking into your profiles. Other acquaintances that you hardly met will turn to social networking (like Facebook) to get to know you better. Would it be cool if they see that you are a distinguished person rather than a dumbass?

I'm not saying that you have to pretend or say nice things in facebook all the time. There are other ways of expressing oneself without looking like a total jerk. Explore those ways and build your reputation online. It is an investment to you future.

I am now a Casual Gamer

Everything has been crazy lately and I am a bit overwhelmed about the changes in my life. I have come to realize that it's time to take real life things seriously from now on. Not that I have been fooling around, it's just that when it comes to my online life and real life, online life was the heaviest part of my life. On my online life, I was able to polish my talents in writing. During my online life, I was also able to overcome my shyness and became a bit more social than I used to be.

To make things short, my online life or my game life, has made me a better person. Now, my real life is becoming demanding and as much as I wanted to balance both my worlds, I have to sacrifice some things. One of the things I have to sacrifice is my online gaming. Don't get me wrong, my online gaming blog, The Gamedok Chronicles, will still be functional. I just have to give up some gaming time. I would not say quit because it will be unhealthy for me because it's the only place I can unwind and relax.

What is this post for? Well, it is to declare that from here on then that I am now a Casual Gamer. I diminish my Hardcore Gamer status because of real life priorities that needs more of my attention. By declaring this on my blog, I will be reminded that it's time to up my game if I wanted to become more exceptional.

You may ask, what about my online game friends? Basically, they are not my online friends at all. They are my friends in real life too and they will always be a part of it.

It's Finally Over

Elections are now over, from this standpoint our new president is Noynoy Aquino and his Vice-President is Jejomar Binay. Although, I am very much disappointed with the results, I am still proud that I have elected the most qualified presidential candidate and that is Gibo Teodoro. As far as this election goes, I have already aired out my disappointment by saying statements all over the net calling the majority of the Filipinos, stupid, immature, and emotional. But then I realized, I was becoming one of them. Please allow me to explain.

I am a human being, and like human beings we commit mistakes. For a moment, I simply forgot what Gibo Teodoro stood for and that is positivity, humility, and intellect. If Gibo Teodoro could read my plurks, tweets, and hear my rants, he would be disappointed. One cannot simply become a mongrel overnight, but I did. I revered Gibo as a hero, heck I almost worshiped him that is why I was greatly disappointed and my judgement was clouded. But as an intellectual individual, one must realize that this shouldn't be the case. Once the elections is over, we should unite and support our president. I know many would despise me, but I have respected Arroyo. I never threw insults to her. She had her shining moments but never did the majority of the Filipino people see that. I also respected Erap because he also had some good moments too.

We, Filipinos, are negative people. Haven't we learned anything at all? It's always the opposition who is the hero and never the Philippine government. Instead of sitting our butts there complaining all the time, why not try to help? Let us be nation builders and not simply noisy bystanders. If we do not have anything constructive to say. Please. Shut up Philippines.

Gibo Teodoro is my hero. He taught me to become an even more productive person by voting who I think should be the next president. He also taught me that mudslinging can never do anything productive. Let us stop this madness and unite for a better Philippines.

I'm done with traditional politics.

For Mr. Aquino, please do not fail the Philippines. I now have my respect for you.

Gibo Teodoro, the Philippine's Inspiration

Perhaps this will be my last post regarding the elections. I know that my timeline is full of Gibo here and Gibo there but believe me, after the indelible ink makes a mark in my finger, my political endorsement will stop. Instead, I will be a vigilant watcher of the elections. Win or lose, Gibo Teodoro will still be my hero, he was an advocate for everything I believed in. He was the political embodiment of everything I am now, from my beliefs and to my actions. I may not be a Harvard Graduate nor a bar topnotcher but I am good at what I do (a writer). I strive for excellence and with great determination yield great results.

Most people will think that everything will be back to normal once the election ends. But my guess is that it won't. With Gibo Teodoro's inspiring aura, many of the youth stood up and volunteered. Many of the youth became pro-active. With limited resources, many of the youth who volunteered for Gibo endured hardships with sheer determination and will to campaign for him. I believe that the people who were "touched" by Gibo Teodoro will do remarkable things to this nation and eventually the whole world. Who knew that Gibo would have this profound effect on the youth? But he did not just inspired the youth. He shook the Philippines with his intellect and charisma. During his campaign, nobody knew him, but in the end, many people eventually recognized him. He did not dwell on past accomplishments to boost his campaign, he did not parade his family, he did not even try discrediting his opponents. He focused on his platform for the Philippines in a detailed and realistic manner. He did not give any promises that are impossible and idealistic. Come to think of it, it was not merely a promise, but a plan.

However, this plan will not be commenced if he is not in the seat of power. Come May 10, 2010, let us put Gibo Teodoro in Malacanang.

He has inspired us greatly to become excellent and determined at what we do. Let him inspire more people and make Philippines a superb nation through his leadership!

My choice, Gibo Teodoro

Politics. This topic is making me distance from it for a long time. However, this particular election got me up and really participate. All the time I didn't care who will be my president, I just want to participate into something historic like the first ever automated elections. As I was screening for possible presidentiable vote just to vote for the said election, I came across lots of people. But something within me triggered.

As I was reading the internet, I began to realize that this is simply not an election where I would mindlessly vote for the popular one, this is something that I need to think about. Hours and hours of research, I came across Gilbert Teodoro aka Gibo, the standard bearer of GMA's party. I read his platform and fell in love with it. It's like reading a love letter from a perfect stranger and you got captivated by it. It was not a promise like those other politicians do. It was a plan.

That was the first striking impression. But I haven't decided that time. I was already thinking about Mar Roxas, Dick Gordon, and Gibo Teodoro. Then comes the day Mar announced that he was stepping down the presidential race. He was out of my list.

Why not Aquino? Drama king. Has not real accomplishments at all. End corruption? How? Duh.

Villar? Hell no. He does not strike me as an honest person.

Erap? Not a chance. I don't have to explain why.

Some unpopular choices? Erm.

Dick Gordon and Gibo Teodoro was left. As I was leaning towards Dick Gordon because of his accomplishments, I suddenly noticed something. He loves pictures. He loves media. Through the years, he was all over the news. He's even doing drama in media. I don't know, but that really seemed fake to me. Dick Gordon was out of my list. Don't get me wrong, but there are lots of reasons why I wouldn't vote for him. He's doing a little mudslinging of his own too. Most of all, most of his volunteers are abrasive (Take note, most, not everyone). Just recently, his outburst on NU 107 is not helping.

Gordon has no charisma at all. He's abrasive and frank in the wrong places. He's got the talent but a president also needs charisma. To attract investors, you need charisma. To talk to people, you need charisma.

Enter Gibo Teodoro. His platform is already his advantage so I decided to dig deeper. I can live without voting, you know.

I found out something. Something that made me like him further. He believes in positive campaigning. Most of his supporters do too. I believe in the positive. I shunned every negativity in my body and look what it has brought me. I was in control of my life and incredibly happy. I am a living testament that being positive can bring good things in life. I believe that having a positive president can bring good things to the Philippines as well. Enough negativity.

He's calm and collected when it comes to critics. He's smart and talented when it comes to debate. He's a master strategist when it comes to his platform. He has charisma. He has the charm. Plus a hot wife (Hehe).

Kidding aside, the question that is lingering in all of our minds is that, will he be a good president? I admit, I do not know. No one knows for sure for every presidentiable out there.

But I believe.

Finally! A blog is born

After several days of slaving myself. Code after code after code, I have finally modded my gaming blog to my liking. It looks all pretty now and I can finally rest a bit. The pressure has been lifted but it doesn't stop here. There are lots of articles to be made for further releases.

And here I go again getting all excited. Well, everything went well on the launch. I was like a kid constantly and eagerly waiting for number of vistors to rise up. First of all, thank you to my friends who supported me on my blog. Special thanks to Roy and Bry for helping me with the site traffic. A special thank you to Kuya Joel for the extremely useful advices.

What will happen next? I'm not so sure, but there's no way to go but up!

Competition is Fierce in American Idol 2010

Last elimination night was quite dramatic as Michael Lynch aka "Big Mike" was threatened to leave American Idol as he was the person with the least number of votes. Fortunately he was saved by the judges which would mean two will be eliminated next week.

Crap! Competition is getting fierce.

All of the idols need to bring their best next week but I will indeed be sad to see two of them go. All of the Top 9 are great out there even the person I wished to go home every week, Tim Urban, is getting better.

If ever I have to choose one. It would either be Lee Dewyze or Crystal Bowersox.

The New Doctor: My Take about the 11th Doctor

(Note: Some parts of this article might be hard to understand if you heven't watched Doctor Who)
He looks different from what I have expected. The first time I saw him in the part 2 of the Doctor Who special, he was like copying David Tennant. It might be quite understandable because he just came from regeneration. More from this after the jump.

Come Season 5 Episode 1, I see him in a full episode. He is quite okay acting-wise in most parts but still I can't shake the feeling that he is imitating David Tennant. There are some parts of his acting that reminds me of him. But yes, it's his first episode so let's see in the future if he will improve.

Regardless of who The Doctor is, I will still watch the series until Stephen Moffat, my favorite Dr. Who writer, disappoints me.

And oh, I'm not liking the new title sequence. It's too classic and cloudy for my taste. Maybe it will grow on me...

Why I Hate 3D Cinema

Davao is in a lot of buzz with this 3d Cinema. SM City Davao has finally released their 3D Cinema (Cinema 6). With 250 PhP, you'll get to watch the movie in 3D. Of course not just any other movie but those movie that is labelled, well, 3d. To begin my story, I planned to watch "How to Train Your Dragon." More of the experience after the jump.

SO, I fall in line and took a ticket. You'll get a free drinks coupon (12 freaking oz) for every ticket. You get to choose where you sit. I sat on a special section on which the chair vibrates in line with the movie (It's not a massage chair, mind you).

Unlike most of the cinemas here in Davao, you don't get to get inside whenever you want, you have to wait for the current playing movie to finish to get in.

SO, it's time to get in. Got my 3d glasses and sat down. The 3D part of the movie started and boy...

I was uncomfortable.

You see, I wear glasses. If I remove those glasses and wear the 3d glasses alone, the movie will be a bit blurry. I kid you not when I tell you that a blurry movie + 3d does not mix! So I tried wearing my glasses AND 3D Glasses. I don't know if it was the combination of the two but it gave me a bit of a headache. I enjoyed the movie but my experience is not so enjoyable.

I vowed never to watch a 3D movie again. I'd rather watch at the Red Carpet Cinema at Gaisano Mall where it is comfortable.

Hum02 Final Exam - Short Film and some Updates

So, finals is here and projects keep piling up. However, I am still here and not giving up for I know that sooner or later all of these will be over and I will have my well-deserved rest.

Last Saturday, March 20, 2010 we shot our final exam in Humanities 02. It was a bit of a stressful day since everything was not really planned out. I mean, the plot was from a dream and the camera work was done without an actual storyboard. I think we did well. Even though it has some imperfections, I think we can have a high mark for this. The video and more of the story after the jump.

I was not joking when this video came to me in a dream. I was in a dilemma one week prior and there are many stories that raced through my mind. My challenge was this, how to create a video where many can participate? You see, we were originally planning on a video that can be made by 6-10 people but our Hum02 instructor suggested to come up with a video for the whole class to participate.

Oddly enough, my story worked. We had fun. We enjoyed shooting. So there it is.

High school has been one of the most interesting part of my life because it taught me how to cheat in exams. I have looked back in my high school days and I am simply not proud of some of the things I have done. However, cheating is simply just some sort of distraction to your examination. Furthermore, cheating is also a distraction from your source.

As I was in UPLB, many “cheating” high “schoolers” will be culture shocked as cheating is heavily punished. As a cheater myself, I was compelled to study on my own. It paid off as I did not need any help with anything when it comes to exams. I just sit down, take the exam, answer it and pass it without any hassle. As I transferred to Davao Doctors College, cheating is also heavily punished but there are lax professors that let their students cheat.

As I transferred to AMACC (Davao Campus), it’s almost the same as in Davao Doc. To protect myself and the teacher (because a student got suspended for posting something bad about teachers in facebook), I will not say the subject and the teacher.

It was our exams and the teacher did not come up to our room. Instead, the teacher sent a student to write the exam in the boards. Without the teacher, many of us thought that we should do this exam in group effort. However, I was not really into “group efforts” since, modesty aside, my classmates think that I am the only one who can answer the exam. Still I told them sternly that I am willing to teach them but I will not let them copy my answers. Some frowned. Some almost rejected me as a friend.

Peer pressure can be hard thing, especially among friends. But you know what? I wanted to give them the answers. But as selfish as it may sound, I find it unfair that you simply give them an easy way to pass whereas you worked hard in studying. Also, what will happen when I am not around to give answers?

I want to save them from failing but passing college through “group effort” is not the way to go. Each of us must learn to survive alone. Still, if they need help in understanding the lessons, I’m here. I’ll help them get through it legitimately because that’s what friends are for.

Who is Jacque / Jackie Bermejo?

As I was reading some articles in the internet, I came across this name, Jacque Bermejo. This OFW worker has recently posted a comment in Facebook that really irked most, if not all, Filipinos. What was the comment?

She was referring to the recent Typhoon “Ondoy” which claimed many lives and flooded many streets/towns here in the Philippine. Yes, the comment was indeed very insensitive. But what came after was more vicious than the comment posted. Hours later, her picture is all over the internet and hurtful comments were posted in her myspace and all other blogsites.

I understand what she said will spark something violent among us Filipinos. But do they really have to let go and post insensitive, hurtful, and damaging comments as well? We should not judge the person, instead wouldn’t it be better to forgive Jacque Bermejo and help the people who were affected by the storm? This is a time of crisis, we should be directing our energy on prayers or giving help to the needy. Anger is also a sin my friends.

Don’t get me wrong, I am also angered by what Ms. Bermejo said, but who are we to judge? Let karma takes its toll.

Also a blog became a little bit "impartial" with regards to the issue (Even though the link is... not so impartial). It says that the account was hacked by some person, however, I am not convinced with the reason that she was "hacked." I think it would be better for her to just come out and say sorry for what she said even though she was "hacked" because those insensitive comments still came out from her account and basically she is also responsible for the safety of her account.

This month, our Lab Professor required us to blog about Manga or any other webcomics. I decide to be a little deviant in the limited choices I have since I am not really a fan of Anime. Sure I could just post some regular old popular mangas online such as Naruto and Bleach, but that would be too redundant wouldn't it? So let's start with some of the "unpopular" ones. By unpopular, I mean, totally not known by most of my classmates.

Readers of my blog, I give you. Sinfest.

Sinfest is a webcomic written and drawn by the Japanese-American comic strip artist Tatsuya Ishida. The web comic is like the mixture of eastern and western drawing styles since most often times, it looks like a manga. However, the web comic is not limited or do not strictly follow manga drawing style.

The author releases one web comic per day and has a special colored comic every sunday. If you're a first time reader of this comic, it is suggested to read the very first one since you can get the idea of the characters. Besides, I assure you it will be a good stress reliever.

Sinfest might be distasteful to very religious people. However, it's just a comic which deals with contemporary issues and religion*. It is not really that harmful as some people thinks.

Introduced in the comic strip above is Slick. Slick is a small guy with a big cravings for girls. He is also a self-proclaimed "pimp." He is usually going out and trying to pursuade Monique to have sex with. However, the attempts were always a failure. Still, they're good friends (or enemies).

Monique on the other hand is an attractive girl in the strip. She is usually depicted as the "love interest" for Slick but she doesn't have feelings for Slick at all. She does, however, have an interest on other unnamed "cuties" in the strip. She is very bitchy but can be reflective oftentimes. Sometimes, she talks to "God" about certain issues.

There are other characters in the comic as well, but I won't really bore you with much of the details.

Pondering about Anger

Not too long ago, i plotted revenge on someone. It began to eat me inside as day after day I became irritable to that person. And then one day, I sat down and something hit me. I began to ask myself rationally on what was I thinking.

I am a person of patience. However, not all the time. The lack of care or inappropriateness of that person has really irked me.

Or maybe he does not know what he is doing.

I should be the one who needs to be more understanding because in the end he is just doing what he thinks he is supposed to do. It is part of his task.

Sometimes, we should not let our anger be in control of our logic. Once we surrender to anger our way of thinking becomes flawed and everything falls out of place.

I have come to realize that I should be the one helping rather than be the one causing problems. Since I can understand what is wrong with the picture, I can be patient enough to let it pass and offer guidance and help if needed.

I did and I feel a lot better.

I hate Father's Day

All over the television, the malls, the radio, and even the internet is buzzing “Happy Father’s Day,” and I am beginning to get sick of it. Why? Because there is no reason for me to celebrate such day for me. As you might have guessed, I grew up without a father beside me. My family is pretty messed up right now. To make the story short, my mother and my “father” is undergoing annulment right now and pretty much the following week, I will be testifying against my “father” in the court. I will represent my brothers as I am the only son in legal age.

What will I say? The whole truth and nothing but the truth. HE WAS NEVER A FATHER TO ME. All my life with him I only experienced inferiority like I did nothing right. Even though I achieved something to make my parents proud, never did I hear him say Congratulations. He never gave me any words of encouragement when I joined competitions. And finally, he did not give any fatherly advice whenever I needed it. I even had an accident during my highschool and the first thing he asked was, “Kumusta yung scooter? [How was the scooter?]”

I know what most of the people will say, he was too busy to show it. My friends, he was never too busy nor busy at all. He was, most of the time, laying there inside his room sleeping and watching television.

I’m glad I am testifying against this pathetic person who happens to be my “father.”

However, there is one thing I am grateful for. He is not my real father.

My real father? Even though he wanted to be my father but was never given a chance, I will still cherish those days I was with him. That was the first and the last brief moments of my life that I ever experienced that I had a father. The lessons of which he taught me that I should never be mean at those people that were not blessed with a good family and a good life. It is a lesson to which I hold dear to my heart this very day.

What is it like to have a father? Will I be a better person if I had a father when I grew up? These questions will never be answered.

That I why I hate Father’s day. It’s a day that will remind me what is missing in my life that I will never get.

June has been one of the promising months for me as I am now purging myself all the negative things in my personality. I am slowly adapting to this new life and I am living and let’s say it’s been working out very well for me, to say the least. I have forgotten to have this feeling a long time. I was busy thinking for other people and failed to think for myself. As selfish as this may sound, I’ve been neglecting myself this past few months pretty much because I have been thinking for others.

Well no more, this time. I have come to realize that people who need help will ask for help if they need it. All I have to do is sit back and relax and help myself become happy. As selfish as this may sound, it has been a liberating experience to help yourself rather than helping others who does not really give much appreciation to your efforts.

Of course, I will not turn my back on people who really needs me but I will limit myself to helping them help themselves rather than spoon feeding them.

June is here and you know what it means? Well, it’s classes time but I haven’t really enrolled yet. I’ve been waiting for my stale checks from Game! Magazine to be reissued. Problem with living in islands away from the office is that I am not able to pick up the checks in time. During 2007, my checks at Game! Magazine pretty much piled up. When I tried collecting it, half of it was already stale so it has to be reissued. Until now, they have never been reissued and it bothers me since I won’t be able to enroll this first semester without it. Good luck to me on that.

Anyway, past that, this month I will be quite busy. Until now I have not yet finalized the events for our clan, Exiled since there are personal problems that has risen. I have to sort that out first before doing my in-game priorities.

What else happened? Well, I’m gonna tell that in another day. This is just an update to tell everyone that I am still alive. I have to fill this blog often since I have to sharpen my “writing skills” since it’s becoming pretty rusty lately.

May 17, a date where we should be celebrating our anniversary has turned into pain and suffering as you were not around anymore. You left our world 4 years ago and somewhat I could not move on no matter what I do. 4 years moved so fast and it seemed only yesterday when I left Los Banos and continued my studies in Davao.

Every time I see a calendar, I remember the fun things we used to scribble, from school projects to simple one word journal. After the month is over, we used to turn that over and make it our freedom poster on which we simply wrote what we feel every day. I remember when you force me to walk instead of riding jeepneys, we used to talk about anything under the sun and sometimes have little debates on something. Every time I see a tree, it reminds me how I can find your dorm when you say its near this number of tree. I remember all those little activities that we used to do to determine how compatible we really are. These activities made us closer than we ever will be.

Everytime I see couples walking by the street, I remember how I proposed to you. Perhaps it was the sappiest and cheesy proposal of all time but yet you accepted it. I remembered our small fights that does not last for one week and only happened 3x. I remember the honesty that you have shown me on where you weren’t afraid to tell me what’s wrong with me.

Everytime I hear “Iris,” I remember the night when I said goodbye. When I stood up and embraced you long and hard. I also remember the song of Parokya ni Edgar of which you considered your favorite. You love it when I sing it even though I have no talent whatsoever in singing.

There are lots of things I can remember but it only makes it harder to forget and move on. It’s been 4 years already and I guess its best that I move on. I love her so much but I don’t think she wants me to be miserable all my life. Last night I prayed hard to God to help me to move on. Somehow, I knew she was there beside me and told me it is time to let go. So I made this post, the only outlet I have, the only thing I know that could help me.

But… I will not forget the memories. She will always be the woman in my life who changed me into a better man.

A Good Advice

During my Nursing years in Davao. I came across one musical that was presented in theaters. It was called, "Phantom of the Opera." I watched the movie back then and I was impressed with the performance. However, it was at the credits rolling that really nabbed my attention. It was the first time I heard such a sad but definitely a good advice. However, I already applied this advice during my UPLB days, I guess it is much better when it is heard through a song. Haha. I'm not being emo, following this advice really worked for me. It helped me survive my UPLB days and my first few weeks in Davao. Perhaps, I should have never let my guard down and began relying too much. I want to let you know that you can always survive life, as long as you learn to be lonely.

A Wall

I was a cynical person before. Thought the world was a nasty place where everyone is only there to destroy me. I loved being alone, never attached myself to friends. Come college I met someone. A friend whom I relied on, confided with, and became a big brother to me. Time came that he was instantly gone, my life crumbled into pieces when I had no one to talk to. I did try to survive, little by little I built life, met someone and loved her with all my life. I leaned on her and she leaned on me.

One year later, she died. She died alone... It was like another boulder went through my entire existence. Shattered, yet determined to live. I built my life again. This time placed a wall over me to protect me from being close to someone. I never needed any friends. I was invincible. I had friends but they were casual friends. We talk here and there but never did long for them when they’re gone.

However, I did become vulnerable again. I gambled. I invited a person again in my life. She was always there for me but I was the wall being leaned on. It never bothered me since I love her with all my heart. However, another person came and another and another. They were my pillars. My life was held with those pillars. I began to be comfortable. Vulnerable. Naïve.

Things don’t last forever as it may seem. It was the biggest mistake of my life when I leaned on someone again. Why didn’t I learn from the past mistakes? Relying on someone only spells destruction. Seems like no matter how much effort you put into something, it all turns to waste. Thinking back, I should not be doing this. My only role in life is to be the wall and walls don’t need walls to support it. It can stand there, alone, strong, and independent.

Thank you very much, but this time I can manage. At least this time, I learned my lesson. Never lean on someone because in the end you will only be disappointed. Learn it. Live it. Apply it. I assure you, you’ll never feel bad again.

Once Alive

At birth, I grew from a very nice environment whereas everyone was treated with respect and we were given values that we could treasure a lifetime. When I reached Grade 4, I was transferred to Davao City on where I experienced a totally different environment.

I lived with my step Grandmother.

At first, I was sort of comfortable with her since she was quite nice. As a child, however, I am quite a cynical person so I begin to think there will come a time that I will be scolded, a time where I dread it will happen... but it did happen. It was a nightmare.

Every time I will be scolded, our neighbors would hear. One of our neighbors runs a home cafeteria business and so every time she scolded me her voice would reach faraway places. It might’ve reached Mount Apo (Nah, just exaggerating). It was the worst experience that I could possibly have. On my Mom’s side of the family, sure we were disciplined physically, but they made us feel that we were disciplined through love and it was meant for us. On my stepfather’s side, I wasn’t hurt physically but my self esteem and my confidence went downhill from there. It came to a point that I never wanted to go outside the house because of embarrassment.

There was a time that I didn’t went home because I had forgotten a medium sized plastic container, which contained my lunch. She sternly told me,

"Wag kang babalik hangga’t hindi mo dala yung Tupperware (Do not come back if you didn’t bring the container with you).”

I was problematic at that time at school because of that. One of my classmates offered me a place to stay, their family welcomed be as their guest. Later that evening, I was found by my aunt and immediately was returned home. My mom called me but then my grandmother whispered very strong words in my ear.

“Wag na wag mo sasabihin sa mommy mo na tungkol sa Tupperware yan (Don’t ever tell your mom that it’s about the Tupperware)”

My mom asked me what was wrong. I just cried.

In the end, she learned the truth about the whole incident from my teacher when we got my grades. I was then transferred to Kabacan, Cotabato.

May 3, 2009. I received word that my step grandmother has already died. I never mourned. Not a single shred of sadness took over me. I just remembered all the hell that I went through when she was once alive.

Wanna Know a Secret?

For years and years people have been applying this secret to make their lives better. Some say that it's actually poppy cock but I disagree. It may be in the form of religion or karma or just believing something, but the secret is always there, always applied one way or the other. All my life, I've been applying something in my life that keeps it from going downhill. It has saved me countless of times but couldn't really make what's going on. It's the secret.

So I watched a certain documentary called "The Secret" just for kicks. Upon watching this documentary, something within me has been enlightened. I have been doing this secret long before I can remember. It's called "The Law of Attraction," if you believe or wish something hard and long enough, it will happen. You must not hold back or think negatively on this otherwise you'll have a hard time making this come true. I don't really know how it works but I am a living testament that it works most of the time. I can list down the things that can affirm this theory and it will really take quite a space. In short, believe and think positive and everything will fall into place.

You might be thinking that this is a lot of bull. However, true or not, thinking positive can never hurt anyone. Applying such method into your life is more beneficial than thinking all the negativity you can muster.

Trip

Trip is a word has a different meaning in both English and Filipino. In English speaking individuals, trip simply means travelling no matter how near or far. In Tagalog, it means something that you are interested in doing or doing something just for kicks.

December of 2008 when I finally pushed through the half of a year’s worth in writing in Game! Magazine. The sum is pretty much good and enough to buy me a new computer. Out on a whim, an idea struck me. Why not have a vacation of a lifetime? After this summer I’ll be pretty much swamped with schoolwork and such relaxing vacation may be too far off. I decided to have a vacation that I’ve been dreaming of for years, a stay in Manila without anything to think about other than myself and my friends. Sounds pretty selfish? Well, yeah it is. But I think I deserve something for myself once in a while. Besides, this will be the last time I will be able to do this alone. Some of you might be wondering, why not the beach or some quiet countryside.

My Friends, I am from Davao. If I wanted to go on a beach escapade, all I need is a Taxi ride and a boat fare. If I wanted to go on a countryside-ish place, all I have to do is ride a van towards my home in Kabacan, Cotabato. So there, a vacation to Manila is all I needed. I can taste the different cuisines from different restaurants and visit the Mecca of Computers, Gilmore. During this trip, I can also visit the different gaming companies that I write for and meet the people behind the game.

So what happened during my tip? This is just an introduction. More posts to come.

You see, there is this girl I met on the internet. We had some fun times together. Sometimes when I have nothing else to do, I’ll contact her and ask if she’s bored and want to go out. We usually watch a movie together and eat at KFC afterwards.

It’s been months since we went out together but our communication is still going strong. Most of the times I would forward jokes and ask what she is doing and text about stuff. Sometimes, she’s too lazy to text and would go online on Yahoo and we will chat for hours.

Our communication became frequent as my internet is going haywire. I was texting her about stuff that happened in my life so far and stuff that happened in her life. However, something happened that severed our connection completely.

[Translated into English]

Me: You know what? I have some important thing you need to know. It might make you happy or make you sad. Hehehehehe.
She: Let me say it for you.
Me: *thinking* How could she know?
She: You see, you’re a nice guy and all but I don’t see you nothing more as a friend.
Me: Eh?
Me: I feel the same way, why the need for that? O_O I was about to tell you “I’m going back to Davao this coming semester. So I’ll even bother you more. >:)”

She didn’t reply.

Then it dawned to me. I’m actually doing somewhat the same treatment to all my friends, Female or Male.

I think this blog entry is long overdue. It has been two weeks since I went to Manila. One week is really a short span of time but enough memories that I will recall every day of my life. However, that one week is quite costly but still worth every penny.

First of all, it’s all thanks to Rob. He was the one who actually made my trip happen, because one of the problems that was hindering me to come to Manila was solved when he let me stay in his home in Muntinlupa. He also accompanied me to the places I need to be, which saved me from getting lost in that big city. I plan to return the favor though by letting him stay in my apartment in Davao… Well once I get my very own pad which takes forever searching for one.

So, how it all began? First there was a flight. I was beginning to get a little dramatic when I posted that blog post. It was one of those moments which seems to take over when you are waiting for something. The trip was important to me because it is the chance I get to meet most of the people that I am leading. Some of you may ask, why not next year? Well, next year is uncertain. There might be a time where I may no longer be the clan master of my clan or many of us has moved on to another game. The year 2008 was the year that Exiled is at its peak and the bond is tight. It’s not that Exiled will be disbanding soon, but this year holds many challenges for us and such challenges will test the mettle of the clan whether or not it will hold. Before we reach that point in our lives, it would be nice if we could enjoy everything for the time being. Atleast, when everything becomes bleak and out of hope, we will remember those moments that we are together and will give us the courage to hold on.

So that pretty much sums up my Manila trip.

That one week is all about the people, the people that I cared for more than my own. The people of which I sacrificed a little bit of my time to make my clan survive against all odds. But it was not all me as well, it was my officers who helped me hold on to the clan. It was also a trip to thank my friends who helped me and supported me even though we are miles apart. And finally, it was a trip to thank them for being a wonderful part of my life.

A Blog Post at the Airport

One hour from now, my plane will start boarding. I wasn't really expecting going to Manila this year. However, my friend Rob made that possible. November last year was my last visit to Manila as a representative for Tiger server for the Level Up! Live 2007. My time there was quite limited and the pressure of the tournament made my stay a bit unsatisfying. I wanted to talk to people more and meet the people in-game.

This year was not exactly a good year for me as a tournament participant. We lost the server finals and I was thinking that I will never meet my clan mates. Fortunately, God is good. Losing the tournament opened up several possibilities of actually meeting and socializing with my clan mates.

Everyday I thank God for the blessings He has given me. I thank Him all the time for giving me wonderful friends. Even though we are islands apart, the internet made it closer than it will ever be.

Though we must admit, in the internet, you will have many friends. Many will be forgotten and will simply move on, but there are friends that will still be your friend when everything goes offline.

Manila Preparation Phase Part 3: The Dermatologist

Lots of my friends have suggested that I get a facial. They say it will definitely improve your face texture since it deep cleanse your face. I'm not exactly metro sexual or a kind of person who worries about my physical appearance too much. However, I am quite curious about the process, so I decided to have my facial before I start going to school again.

My Manila trip was suddenly planned, so I scheduled my facial a bit early as planned.

So the process began with a cream application on my face. I guess it was some sort of moisturizing cream. After three different applications of creams, the dermatologist pointed some steaming gadget on my face. This made me very uncomfortable because I felt like drowning in that mist. I tend to look away from the direction of the mist every now and then to breathe deeply.

After that there was this suction device being poked at my face. I feel like some dirt off my skill was being vacuumed away.

"So this is it?" I thought.

However, it was not IT. Here comes the painful part. The dermatologist was poking something at my face. It was quite painful and it felt like parts of my skin were being pinched finely. It went back and forth in my face and I kinda flinched whenever it was too painful.

Still the process finished and I survived it.

I guess this is all for now. Next time I'll tell tales about my 1 week manila trip :D

Manila Preparation Phase Part 2: The Wardrobe

So the ticket waiting was already annoying to say the least,but I guess I could let that pass. Next on the list was the update on my wardrobe. I'm not really a fashion nut at all and updating my wardrobe only happens a few times in one year. Normally, you see the same clothes about 3-4 times per month or atleast once per week.

Last Friday night, I began checking my clothes. Ever since I slimmed down a bit, I didn't get to check which pants can fit and which polo can fit. I guess that Friday night is the best night.

As I was rummaging some clothes on my clothes. I noticed something. It was the first time I have felt it in my entire life. It was the first time I actually said to myself, "I needed new clothes." Don't get me wrong, I have many clothes that looks fantastic on me, however, my Perfect World character influenced me somehow.

So I went to Collezione in SM Davao and looked for clothes. I asked for my size and I dared to ask for a smaller size as well. I was thinking that if that smaller size tore apart when I wear it, I think I can shell out some extra dough.

I'm glad I did dare for a size smaller. I was extremely happy to find out that I had gone down 1 size. I guess some exercises proved worthy for me and there is a glint of hope that I would actually lower my weight more.

There is always hope.

Manila Preparation Phase Part 1: Getting the Ticket

Title sounds formal? LoL.

Anyway, I have 3 objectives in my Davao trip. First is to get my plane ticket, second is to update my wardrobe, and third is to get, as much as embarrassing to admit it, a "facial."

My first objective was quite easy. All I have to do is present a code my friend gave me and the ticket will immediately be given to me. However, when I entered the office, there are lots of people waiting. I looked around and I noticed a huge number LED board.

It immediately occurred to be to get a number. Unfortunately, there were no priority numbers. I had to wait for the priority numbers to be refilled. It's quite ironic. Minutes later, I finally got the ticket... the priority number ticket...

It read, 107.

The LED board... was 91.

It wasn't so bad, I thought. Since it's quite near already. Unfortunately, to my horror, each number takes a while before another number is called out.

It took me about 2 hours to be called and, ironically, the process only took me 5 minutes. =/

Google Books!

It was a long time a go when my love for books has begun to dwindle. A walk to the library is quite tiring and renting books is such a drag. However, Google has invented something magnificent once more. Out of the Google Labs, here comes Google Books. It's like an online library for books on which you can browse... for free! Unfortunately, there is a catch, some books are for previews only and cannot be downloaded, but there are other books that you can easily download and read on your computer.

Some books are available for preview that will give you a better look on what to expect on the book. If you like it, you can always buy it on your favorite bookstore.

A friend of mine even used Google books for her papers and she can easily cite them.

Online Games: Unstability, Romance, and All that Jazz

In online games, we have friends. These friends that will help you and support you in anyway they can to help you achieve your goals. However, there is one problem. There are times that the person you helped becomes unstable and will eventually quit. Hearing the word "quit" is really quite disheartening due to the fact that there was no consideration taken on what your friends might feel. Specially the ones the you have greatly supported and never asked anything in return except their presence in-game.

As a clan master, a leader, such events are not a stranger to me. Most of the time I go an extra mile just to help my friends out, only to find out sooner that after achieving their goals they will quit and sell their characters. What hurts the most is that they are immediately dismissing the fact that there are people who helped build that character.

What about in-game romance? It's another factor to stability.

Love makes us stupid. This is a well known fact.

Although there are a few people that can handle romantic problems, there are others that can dismiss the people around him/her and do things that they will eventually regret later.

This is the disease amongst online gamers. Even though there are EB's and such, friendship through online game does not transcend any boundaries unless you will be meeting each other frequently, however this happens extremely rare.

The sad truth about online friendship: You became friends online, it will end online.

And so, it begs the question to you my friend, if the online game suddenly dissapears, will your friendship dissapear as well?

Goodbye Lappy Top

I missed my Laptop. It was in July when I brought it to the computer company. I asked them to install a new ram but suddenly, when they installed it, it burned and my LCD was ruined. So they said they would cover the cost of the LCD. I agreed to it.

Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, there was no lappy. I started worrying but the ASUS service center said that such things would take a while to be replaced since the bezel and the panel should be replaced. Those two parts needs to be ordered first.

After two months, here it is, my laptop. There was no Windows since my hard disk was stolen along with my laptop bag. I installed a Windows XP with Vista GUI windows. I'm glad it worked out great.

Unfortunately, with my new PC and all, my lappy top is now obsolete. So he became my brother's bestfriend. But I will come back for my lappy top, when I have bought a gaming pc for my brother.

Crazy Dream #1: The Kidnapping

This dream happened after I have finished all of my Video editing. It seems that I am a Video Director in this dream and I was shooting a scene with my friend Steffy. Then suddenly she was kidnapped with a guy wearing a mask. I looked into his eyes and noticed a resemblance to one of my PW friends, Bryan. I started chasing the guy who seems to have placed Steffy somewhere as I could not see him carrying anything.

After a while, I bumped into two of my PW friends, Rob and the supposed-to-be kidnapper, Bryan, I then asked Bryan if he was the one who took Steffy away but Bryan answered that it's impossible because Rob and Bryan were singing in a video-oke machine for quite some time now.

The scene quickly changes as a familiar face was laughing. I immediately slapped the back of his head but the weird thing was I felt it, behind MY head.

Then I woke up...

It's been a while since I really blogged on this blog. A lot has happened lately and being a master in Perfect World is really quite draining. However, things would be lighter soon as the process for the division of labor within my clan has started.

Well, enough about Perfect World.

I'm having trouble sleeping for some reason. Everything seems to be lacking of time especially when classes are about to begin. I begin to wonder whether I would be extremely busy when school starts. I wish it would otherwise my online life would really be devastated.

On other news, I will be going to Manila this coming October 16 and attend the 2008 Level Up! Live. Last year, I went to Level Up! Live as a contestant but now, I'm going there as a gamer. I believe it's a blessing in disguise as I get to go to Manila and meet up with friends without any pressure about a tournament.

I guess that's all for now. I really tend to be chatty when I can't sleep.

The iPod Touch Tragedy

I bought an iPod touch last August 30, 2008. I was having fun with it and installed new apps. I even jailbreak it for me to install other open source apps and it was great. I have lots of apps in my ipod touch now making it mode like a Digital Assistant rather than an MP3 player. As my house is equipped with WiFi, I can now browse the internet anywhere I like even in the bathroom as I take a crap.

No. I know what you're thinking. I DID NOT DROP MY IPOD TOUCH IN THE TOILET.

It's much worse than that.

September 6, 2008 marks the day the Second Generation iPod Touch was launched...

Holy Crap.

1 week ago, my iPod touch was the "in" gadget and now it's just yesterday's news. What's worse is that it has a speaker and a lovely volume control at the side. Fortunately, the speakers all crappy and the volume control is a bit hard to push. What irked me is that the price is considerably lower than the first generation iPod Touch but that remains to be proven.

I haven't checked the iCenter in Davao yet but if it really lower than the 1G ipod Touch.

iTunes account without a Credit Card?

So, you got a brand new shiny iPhone or iPod. You saw some hilarious podcasts and some useful free apps but you can't download it since you need an Apple ID. When trying to register, you see one unfortunate information needed, a Credit Card. But you don't have one!

Come come, don't cry. I'll teach you how to download those free apps and nice podcasts without using any credit card info.

Before proceeding, make sure that you are in iTunes USA, all you have to do is just switch the country. Other countries won't work. The process will be explained below.

I’ll explain in short how to get yourself a FREE iTunes Account without that damn Credit Card!

All you have to do is follow the Steps below :

1. Open iTunes

2. Click on iTunes Store from the Left Side Pane.

3. At the very bottom of the page, select My Store as “United States”.

4. When the page opens at the Right hand side Under Quick Links, select “Redeem“.

5. Now Go to this site : http://www.tunecore.com/freealbum! You will get a Code from there.

6. Paste that Code in the Redeem Screen of iTunes.

7. You’ll be asked to Enter Your Apple/AOL IDs. Just ignore that !

8. Click on Create New Account at the bottom left of that Window.

9. Enter your Details. The details should be a US address. Now at the Payment Screen you’ll see that Payment is Optional and None option is added.

10. Simply Select that None option and Click Continue !

11. You’ve just created yourself a new iTunes Account totally FREE without any Credit Card !

Diary of a Clan Leader: Micromanagement and Interaction

Perhaps, one of the most basic of all clan leaders is micromanaging. As you can see, Perfect World has a maximum of 200 members and with that number, it would be fairly difficult to handle all of them. Being a leader does not generally mean that you have to handle everything yourself, it means you supervise and decide which course of action to take are generally beneficial for the group you are leading. And so, micromanaging comes in. This is where you will assign an individual or several groups of people to handle something in your group. That way, you can do all your duties and at the same time, never leaving your members hanging in the air.

Interaction with the group is beneficial as well. Sometimes, you have to go down from your “throne” and learn to interact with your members. It promotes loyalty and gives some inspiration. Promoting interaction with members will also make the bond stronger amongst the members. It would be best if leaders can promote some sort of exercise for this, such as team building activities.

That being said, it would seem that the clan is doing just fine. Imagine us, being bombarded with attacks that will make us lose a territory almost every week and yet the clan is still going strong. No one left the clan with the reason that we are generally getting weaker. Actually, that’s far from it.

Every week in Perfect World, we have this activity called territorial wars. It is an event where we test our mettle against other clans beside us as they try and take our territories. Also, we have a chance to take their territory as well.

Two weeks ago, we have achieved the impossible. For two hours, we have defended two territories from two major clans. It was a close victory. Fortunately, even losing one territory, the spirits of the members were not crushed. In fact, it inspired them. Due to that event, the number of applicants to join our clan even rose. Several clans have even asked us to our extension. Unfortunately, as overwhelming as it may sound, we are still not yet ready to take on a huge leap in expanding.

Diary of a Clan Leader: First Post

With the celebration of the resurrection of God, I decided to start something on my blog. It’s been a while since I updated my blog. Well, what will be this “weekly” entry about? Well, it would be about me and my clan, Exiled. Exiled is a clan or a guild in Perfect World Philippines, Tiger Server. It’s quite a controversial clan, I might say, since almost everyone seems to want a piece of us. And in the history of Exiled, there has never been a break from the territorial war. Oh, well, I guess that’s what you get from being a primary color as your official clan territorial color.

I do believe that red represents us very well, since red represents courage. It would really take a lot of courage to decide on which move to take. Everything is just risky. Red, also represents war. We have lots and lots and lots of war every week. It seems to be non-stop but I believe the members are enjoying it.

If you are unfamiliar with the game Perfect World, you don’t have to worry about a thing. I’ll generally talk about leadership and some events in a clan that you can relate to. Who knows? You might even pick up a thing or two about leadership (Take note on the word “might”).

Pangya Philippines says goodbye on January 25.

To Our Beloved Pangsters,

Greetings!

It is with deep pleasure that we wish to express our gratitude to you guys for sticking with Pangya Ph all this time. You, our community, have journeyed with us through thick and thin for 2 years, and we couldn’t have asked for a better community of players.

We here at Level Up! and Pangya Ph are blessed with a strong and solid community of avid Pangsters!

Pangya Ph has been a pioneer of numerous things in the casual gaming scene and we attribute each success and milestone to the people behind the game, especially the Game managers, Community managers and Brand managers that have come and gone to assume the huge task of operating Pangya Ph. Of course, all our efforts would be wasted if we didn’t have a community to keep us alive, happy and whole.

But, as you all know, we have encountered numerous changes lately, not least of which was the merger between Netgames and Level Up! together under ePLDT. Along with this recent development, our company will dedicate itself to continued evolution, ushering in changes and developments to better serve our gaming community and our partners.

Our management has decided not to renew the contract for Pangya, which ends on January 25, 2008. This ends our wonderful partnership with Hanbitsoft and Ntreev our developers from Korea, and unfortunately access to the game we have all come to love and hold dear to our hearts, Pangya Ph.

It pains the Pangya Ph team to see our game come to a close, especially with the kind of community we have. However, with every setting sun, comes a new dawn. We see this as an opportunity for you, our dear community, to explore the other games that Level Up! has to offer. Rest assured that we will properly compensate the remaining in game currency you have as you make that leap to your next Level Up! game.

Before we officially say goodbye, let us first look back at the accomplishments Pangya Ph has made in the past years.

We battled it out to get that elusive Hole-in-one with our astonishing 1 million peso hole in one challenge, and we were absolutely mesmerized how quickly Pinoys got the hang of the HiO!

We went to Italy to represent Pangya Philippines in the World Cyber Games, the first ever online game tournament of its kind and proved that we got game!

We ventured into advergaming with the PLDT My DSL POWERSHOT which opened the realm of online gaming to advertising. We launched Pangya Season 2 last December 2006, as we took Pangya to the next level!

Finally, we battled our hearts out in the virtual golf course to determine who was the best Pangster in the land in the Pangya Philippine Tour 2007 which climaxed at the Level Up! Live 2007: Logged and Loaded event!

Overall, it was a wild ride, and it was all good! We enjoyed the ride with every single Pangster out there who took the game to heart.

All these memories, all these accomplishments made Pangya Ph what it is now, and this is what we will bring along with us as we move on – we bring the good memories with us, and we hope you do too.

There is nothing to feel glum about because we know there are other Level Up! games that await you. New brave worlds to explore with the Pangster spirit we all know you posses!

So as we begin our farewell this January, we look forward to seeing you in other Level Up! worlds (FlyFF, RF, Perfect World, Freestyle, Ragnarok, Khan) as we start a new journey with all of you.

Just remember to bring the good times we’ve had in Pangya Ph to your next game. Also, bring that same spunk and passion that made us a solid community and show them the undying spirit of the true Pangster that made Pangya a wonderful world to be in.

As a parting gift, we switch on our 2x exp and pang event for the entire month of January!

As we say goodbye, we hope to once again say hello, because here at Level Up!, we are just one big community - growing, developing and surviving – in our everyday encounters within our online worlds as we LEVEL UP!

What happened so far...

After several months of being inactive, I am now able to post in this blog. I know that many people were dismayed by the sudden halt of the MyX Daily Countdown but unfortunately other blogs has been copying my style. Anyway, I will try to post the Top 10 again soon but unfortunately not now.

So what's up with my life right now? I am still currently immersed in the online game Perfect World. Yes, it's currently taking over the country by storm. I am hoping that I would reach 100 this week so I can be included in the Warrior's challenge.

School? Well everything's fine. A little boring since the subjects are still pretty basic. As much as I wanted to skip attending those subjects, I have to, since they are prerequisites. Anyway, I still learn something from those subjects. For example, the nature of Hubs and Switches. Different kinds of Networks and other technical stuff.

Yes, I know I haven't updated my blog lately. I've been busy with lotsa stuff namely the Jade Nightingale Tournament of Perfect World, magazine project of our class, and some articles for Game! Magazine.

Let me start first with the Jade Nightingale tournament, well it was fun. Although some poeple are not exactly happy of me being imported on another Clan. Well, that's my friend's clan and naturally I want to help him. Some poeple are just plane shallow and could not understand the real reason I joined that clan.

Anyway, on to the next news in my life. The Magazine project of our class. It's pretty much, shall we say, frustrating, since it feels like I am the only person doing the project. This project by the way is our Finals exam and pretty much I want to be exempted from it. Anyway, I just hope I could finish this project by tomorrow so I could start on my Game! Magazine article.

Speaking of Game! Magazine article, I have two articles to finish this week. Whew!

Is life beautiful or does it really suck like most people say it is? These past few days has been the most challenging days of my life. I wanted to explode because of the pressure and the problems in our family.

Here I am, enjoying, possible, the best game ever created while my Mom at our province is being "attacked" by people. Attacked by the "other" family. My Dad's relatives.

It's funny how the separation process occurs here in the Philippines. It's not simply a battle of two people but of families. With all the lies being thrown to us from the other side, it even reached to a point that the bastard's (My STEP father) parents called my mother was a prostitute. What do they think of their son? A SAINT? A saint, of whom I caught cheating with cybersex. A saint who talks to females and constantly giggles in the middle of the night teasing a certain unknown female?

Damn you.

EXAAAAMS! Prelims!!! MATH! AAAHHHH~~~

1 hour and 30 minutes before the exams and here I am slouching in front of the laptop. Well, not really, I am searching for easy explanations with regards to our lecture in Trigonometry. Yes, Trigonometry, some of you might say that it is the most simplest of all the Maths in the College years. Well, pardon me, the last trigonometry lesson I had was years ago and quite frankly I have forgotten all the information regarding that.

It may be my fault by disregarding those lessons that took place in a High School classroom. Yes, I am regretting it now. I'm currently cracking a whip on my back as a punishment(mentally of course).

Damn. I'm gonna be farked big time!

What about the other lessons? Well, they're ok, I guess. You see, I have no problems with the other exams.

I just have this certain Allergic reaction to math. My head aches. A LOT!

My Debut

In our lives, there is that special day where we would wish everything will be perfect but we end up being disappointed instead.

Enter July 14, 2007. 21 years after my birth. My Debut.

I can't blame people for not remembering. Perhaps they have too much to do. But I think I can't help but feel bad that the people that were so close to me failed to even drop a 2-word greeting on me. A one peso text that will surely make me happy that they remembered me in this special day.

Saturday was not entirely a disaster. I finally had my DS Lite and my siblings and I got to meet and have fun.

That's life, anyway. Nothing is perfect.

And so the day ends having my Pokemon at Level 16.

Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th started out very horrible for me. I was late at my Math class. I thought at Club Fair, we only get to sign an attendance and leave. So I thought I could be fashionably late.

But no.

They have classes. And there they were, having a group quiz.

30 minutes late, a group adopted me. It was also a group of late people. We were panicking. But the beauty of it all is that we answered the questions in time.

I did all the calculations? No. Not true. It was a group effort and I'm proud of that group.

July 13th was club day at our school. We were required to join 1 club with the limit of 2 clubs. Being a computer geek, I joined CISCO. I just feel like it and was hoping to learn more from school with that job. I also joined AMAnimation, it's an artists club, more of digital artists. I was under the web design group. There were some group that I want to join but like I said there was a 2 club only limit. Oh well, I think it's for the best.

Happy day on 14th? I hope.

Normalizing... is there such a word? Well, I guess there is since the Mozilla spell checker did not draw a red line. Anyway, things are probably going smoothly. Last week was hell week, you know why? It was my first week at school and I need to catch up which probably made me sick. Literally sick.

I had on and off fever for 6 days, 4 days of non-stop migrane, and 3 days of toothache. I think this my body's way of adjusting. Anyway, all is well in School today. I was like in a Semi-block group since most of my subjects are in the section CM. My schedule was nice but I have to practice waking up early in the morning.

Anyway, I still have much to do in so little time.

Starting to Panic

I'm currently here at cafe right now. I think there is something wrong in my lappytop. It's not starting properly. What's worse is my Article deadline is today. I am seriously dead. I will bring it to my friend's house later tonight to figure what's wrong. I just hope my laptop is fine.

Oh, about the MyX Daily countdown. It appears they still have not updated their countdown. I wish I could watch the MyX Daily Countdown soon.

FlyFF Version 8 -- Coming soon?

Several forums are being clogged up with regards to the version 8 update. As you all may know, Version 7 of FlyFF has just been applied. Although, I am quite dissapointed about the features they will implement since it does not contain any information with regards to the upgrade on the Flying system. Sadly, Perfect World seem to have perfected this system.

Waiting for the Van

It seems it’s taking forever just waiting for a ride here in a van. There were times that people kept coming by and just looking inside to see if there are people around. When they see a few people riding in the van, they began refusing the “callers” invitation to ride the van. The “callers,” by the way, are the people that escorts potential passengers to the van.

Anyway, how will this van ever be full if they won’t fill it. Anyway, thank God that there are smart enough people that are willing to wait until this van gets full. It appears to be taking forever. Even so, I still got the best seat in the van. The highly coveted front-seat. Anyway. God bless our trip.

Sitting here in my room, I begin to wonder why I was always posting negative stuffs on my blog lately. Come to think of it, almost all the blogs out there post some negative stuffs. For others, they just post for profit and hopefully google will pick them up. That was my purpose once, that’s why I set up these MyX Daily posts. Sadly, it was a failure. Not to worry though, I think some of the people actually visit my blog and read some of my posts.

Lately, has been depressing. It seems like every worst thing in this world in this world has been thrown at me. Most likely I could be the person that will be all emo right now, well during the pass days I was.

I forgot myself.

It seems that I fail to look that there is light at the end of this long tunnel. I just have to “run” to get there. Dwelling on these trivial problems shouldn’t be the case, I should be finding a way to solve it.

A new leaf? Nah, I just had the best slumber ever. No interruptions. I should be doing this more often.

A Father's Day Story

Sometimes, when we are alone, we tend to think of the past. We try to remember all the happy memories of our lives. Unfortunately, there are times that we tend to forget some of the happy memories of our lives and we tend to get frustrated.

I am a child that was born unplanned.

Shocking? Perhaps not. In our times today, these things happen oh-so-common. But back then, it wasn’t. I won’t tell the story on how I was conceived. But one thing’s for sure, it was not done with two people loving each other.

And that’s just an introduction.

My father wants to acce3pt the responsibility, but my mother would not allow it. Months turned to Years that I don’t have any father figure at all. Until one day, my father asked my grandmother if he could visit me. July 15, 1990, a day after my birthday, he came. We went out together. He took me and my cousin to Manila Zoo and had fun in Fairview. But that was all I remembered.

My grandmother began telling stories about my father when he visited. It turns out, it was not only one day but he stayed a while. I grew frustrated when I did not remember those happy memories. She said that the three of us (father, mother, and me) slept in one room. We had lots of fun and she said we enjoyed ourselves and we look like a happy complete family. Unfortunately, all I remembered was one day and one day alone.

It was the last time I ever felt I had a father.

Did my mother ever get married? Well, she did. But what happened in that marriage is another story. When I became a Grade 4 student, I transferred in Mindanao. I now have a step father. But that was just for show. I never felt he loved me. I tried to understand him but the thought of not loving me was lingering on my head.

The reason, "maybe he wasn't showy," might be a good reason but he sure did a good job covering his love. Not one ounce of fatherly love I have felt. And now, my parents are on the verge of separation. My mother got fed-up of being humiliated in public by this monster she married.

I finally gave up when we talked last week. He has no respect for me and my mother. My love for him has ended that day when he wouldn't listen to me.

And I quote,

Me (translation below): Ang totoong rason kung bakit ka hihiwalayan ni Mommy is hindi nya na matiis yung pambabastos mo sa kanya sa public. Siya na nga lang ang nagtratrabaho sa pamilya natin.

(The real reason why Mom wanted to end your marriage because she couldn't take it anymore when you humiliate her in public. And still she is the only one working in this family.)

Davao WiFi Hotspot #2: Jollibee Bolton

So, yeah, here I am again at a Davao City WiFi Hotspot. I could not actually believe that there will actually be a WiFi Hotspot at a Jollibee store. My friends contacted me regarding this wifi spot, it's really peculiar for a fast food chain to have a WiFi Spot.

Clocking the speed here, it's about 500-700 kbps download speed and about 50 kbps upload speed. YouTube is certainly out of the question since the signal is not quite stable, it's only good for surfing and downloading.
